One Place: Two Views
Jane Poynter & Christine Wood
Red Gallery, North Fitzroy
September - October 2009
What makes a place meaningful, and what does 'place-making' involve? These images take the form of a photographic dialogue between two artists working with ideas of urban space and placement.
First creating individual images
of places of personal significance around North Melbourne, we then brought our different views together in a single picture frame. Like a renegade cartography, this work maps different interpretations of place within the same visual plane.
Jane Poynter and Christine Wood
are photographers based in North Melbourne and have previously collaborated on several exhibitions.
